The Georgian
Santa Monica’s first skyscraper gets a long-overdue refresh of its façade and interiors.
Originally erected in 1931, The Georgian Hotel underwent extensive renovations to both modernize its facilities while simultaneously preserving its iconic charm. HLW served as the Architect of Record, overseeing a series of renovation phases aimed at revitalizing this historic landmark. Collaborating with Fettle Design, the renovation includes the addition of a new commercial kitchen, a speakeasy, coffee bar, lounge, and the redesign of reception areas, hotel rooms, hallways, and other public spaces. These updates are carefully crafted to integrate contemporary amenities while respecting the hotel’s original aesthetic, ensuring that The Georgian Hotel continues to offer a unique blend of historical elegance and modern convenience.
