This tech client and HLW’s collaboration yields an office that merges intelligent technology, sustainability, and community engagement.
In 2019, our client relocated its headquarters to a new 71,352-square-foot space at One Washington in Newark, NJ. Collaborating with HLW, the audiobook company created a workplace that prioritizes the well-being of its employees and integrates into the local community. The design process, carried out during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, focused on creating a variety of space types that foster unique interactions and flexible use throughout the day. Its sustainability is also topknotch: the project achieved LEED v4 ID+C Gold, WELL Health-Safety, and Fitwel 2 Stars certifications. Enhancing its connection to the local culture, the office includes murals and artwork from Newark artists, reinforcing the client’s commitment to community engagement and environmental responsibility.
