HLW’s mission statement, “Our work tells your story,” is also in a way my personal story. In addition to believing in an individualized approach to design, one where innovative solutions are tailored to each project, I see my professional journey as consistent with the HLW culture. “Multiple chapters” is how I would characterize many years working with HLW. I’ve worked as a designer, as director of interior architecture, and now as the managing director of the New Jersey office. The work has always been about creative flexibility; what we do is always changing, never monotonous. And, this is also how I would describe HLW’s history—one story with many different chapters. We can support projects of any size, from base building, ground-up design to repositioning properties, from interior fit-out to landscape architecture. This is how you keep it fresh: reinvent yourself and remain at the forefront of design and architectural innovation. As a firm, we never rest on our laurels and never wear our 130+ years on our sleeve. Rather, we have reinvented our practice at each turn.
